Hello, I’m Faith Calhoun aka the mental health dietitian! I’m a registered dietitian that loves helping people make lasting change. We have triggers that hijack our nervous systems and have learned to use coping strategies to survive and may use food as a coping strategy, or “emotionally eat.” Most clients know what they need to do to be healthier they just don’t know how to change their habits. In addition to teaching important nutrition principles, I can help clients identify emotional blocks, behaviors, and coping strategies that are driving poor health habits, help process emotions and guide them down a path of lasting change. I want to take my clients from surviving to THRIVING.
Prior to coming to Mindfulness, I worked the last 6.5 years as a clinical dietitian in a hospital setting. I want to be able to help clients prevent and/or reverse lifestyles diseases that may land them in a hospital. I have a BS in Agriculture with an emphasis in Human Nutrition and Foods, BA in Journalism and a BS in Broadcast Media. I have a creative side and consider myself an artist. I love photography, gourmet cooking (and yes, I take glorious pictures of food, too), creative writing, etc. I love to learn about mental health modalities and am constantly looking for ways to better myself. My self-care includes time in nature, deep conversations, meditation, reading a good book, journaling, traveling to beautiful places, time with family, friends and my cat 😊
